Alternative Canvases
Boat scene on driftwood
My only guidelines are the following:
· Must use an alternative canvas.
This can be anything that is not a traditional painting surface. Not canvas paper, board, or watercolor paper. Spend time planning this so that you can be creative. Last minute ideas will not serve you well… YOU WILL NEED TO BRING THIS IN. I will not be providing this. Money is not an excuse as inexpensive and free objects are fair game.
·Include at least 2 skills/techniques you’ve learned this semester.
We do not want abandon skills we’ve spent so much time practicing! (Color Theory, texture, value, perspective, observational drawing/painting…)
· Keep it appropriate for School.

Suggestions for success:
·Plan ahead and stay productive. Time management is a valuable life skill. ·Brushstroke awareness is important. ·Might be a good idea to plan your painting based on your alternative canvas… (Ex: in the Lobby, a primal tribesman is painted on a flat screen TV… could this be a commentary on the development of our society/technology?!) |
